Iowa Automotive Recyclers Educational Scholarships
Each year the Iowa Automotive Recyclers award scholarships Direct member's children and the children of their employees, to assist with the cost of a post secondary education. Students may apply during any year they attend an accredited institution. During this economic recovery, colleges are cutting back on scholarships, grants and other forms of financial aid available to students due to funding cuts to education. That’s why these scholarships are more important than ever.

Ellie McChesney, daughter of Jonathon McChesney, McChesney Auto, Somers, was awarded the IAR Scholarship. Ellie is currently studying Des Mines Area Community College Boone Campus. Ellie plans to become a special education teacher after graduation.
Hailey Cook, daughter of Karrie Thole, North End Auto Wrecking, Dubuque, was awarded the IAR Scholarship. Hailey is studying Agricultural Science at Iowa Central Community College. Hailey plans to transfer to Iowa State University and combine her love of photography with Ag Industry sales and marketing work.
Hanah Van Beek, granddaughter of the late Ed Regnerus, B & B Salvage, Sioux Center was awarded the IAR Scholarship. Hanah will study nursing at Dordt University. Hannah would like to be a combat medical service with the Army, treating those who are most vulnerable.
Jacob Sandbulte, grandson of the late Ed Regnerus, B & B Salvage, Sioux Center was awarded the IAR Scholarship. Jacob will study History Education at Northwestern College with aspirations of becoming a high school history teacher and coach. Jacob competes in collegiate golf.
Lainey Pomrenke, granddaughter of the late Ed Regnerus, B & B Salvage, Sioux Center was awarded the IAR Scholarship. Lainey will study pre-chiropractic at the University of South Dakota. Lainey plans to Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Cleveland Chiropractic then return to the area to work locally.
Lauren Regnerus, daughter of Frank Regnerus, B & B Salvage, Sioux Center was awarded the IAR Scholarship. Lauren plans to study to be an accountant at Dordt University. Lauren plans to work as an accountant in northwest Iowa after graduation as well as take over the accounting work at B & B Salvage from her Dad!

Since the inception of the IAR Scholarship program, we have given outstanding students from member families, funds toward an educational goal. Each year it is our privilege to disperse up to $5000 in scholarship to these fine young men and women.

Iowa Automotive Recyclers Scholarship Fund
The Iowa Automotive Recyclers scholarship fund was established in 2007 for the children and grandchildren of an owner or employee of an Iowa Automotive Recyclers direct members as a way to help offset the cost of their continuing education.
The scholarship is open to a son, daughter, grandchild, son-in-law, daughter-in-law of an owner or employee (who has been employed for at least one year) of a direct member in good standing. The owner, an employee and their spouses are also eligible.
The funds for the scholarships are generated through the Iowa Automotive Recyclers' Summer Outing Auction. We are thankful for all the support that we have received from our members in making it possible to provide scholarships to these deserving individuals. $5,000 was awarded in scholarships for the fall term.
